4×4 Style: What to wear to an Interview
Per a reader’s request, Luci, Grace, Alyssa, and I came together once again with our 4×4 Style series to give you some inspiration on what to wear to an interview.
Let’s face it, today’s economy is not looking very promising, and while our elected politicians play Jenga with our money, we are left to fight for the few jobs generated yearly. To succeed in today’s job market you have to take every step of the hiring process seriously. Luckily for you I am here to give you a few styling tips on what it is by all standards a very important step…what to wear for your interview. Going to a job interview could be quite intimidating and nerve racking. Just writing this post brings back memories on when I had to do my first job interview after eight years in the military. I was nervous as heck, but I got the job!
The key to nailing an interview is making a lasting impression, so you must dress the part. Whether the job you are interviewing for is business casual, corporate, or creative you must look polished and professional as possible.
With my look, I wanted to incorporate some print but I knew I didn’t want it to be too flashy or overwhelming. Instead, I chose a subtle print and a dark colored blouse while still showing my personality but in a professional way. Small style tip, if you want to a wear print stick with one print and let the rest of the outfit be simple. I kept my make up as minimum as possible but making a small beauty statement with my favorite eye look, the winged eyeliner.

You really do always have the perfect floral piece! And I love that you even had the portfolio to add to this outfit!
I need to stop with the florals lol I need to change it up!
Love this look! You look so professional and ready to take on the world!

Thank you Luci!
Love your outfit! I've worked as a receptionist many times and have seen the way some people come in to interview and it's just crazy. I think most girls/women have never been given ideas on how to dress. But I've seen girls come in in flip flops, tank tops and tights and of course with no resume. SO really unprepared.

This is such a pretty not-boring formal work outfit! I'll definitely have to keep it in mind for my next interview.
